IMAANI's career has been quite a journey for this country girl from Derby who jumped on a train to London at the age of 19 and never looked back.

Nurtured by the legendary JOCELYN BROWN, IMAANI's talent was soon discovered with cousins CARLEEN & JHELISA ANDERSON & TALKIN LOUD's URBAN SPECIES all taking her on tour.

British Soul Institution INCOGNITO was IMAANI's next port of call as she became a permanent fixture on their perpetual live show and on their recording's as she featured on the albums BENEATH THE SURFACE, ADVENTURES IN BLACK SUNSHINE, BEES & THINGS & FLOWERS, ELEVEN & TALES FROM THE BEACH.

Another highlight and in her own words 'the biggest night of my life' saw IMAANI perform to well over 100 million people and finish second in the 1998 EUROVISION SONG CONTEST.

In recent years, IMAANI has formed a stirring partnership with London House music crew COPYRIGHT, delivering the anthems WIZEMAN, BRING ME LOVE & most recently NOBODY, all on DEFECTED RECORDS.

FOUND MY LIGHT Part 2 includes the original version produced by label heads REEL PEOPLE and a stunning new remix by New York house legend FRANKIE FELICIANO.

Cei Bei - I Need you Lord 2011 Mixes (Incl. Blaq Soul & Doc link Remixes) EP

It is a pleasure to announce the release of Cei Bei's I Need You Lord. Cei Bei has been a staple in the house community for many years. He has done work with his big brother Lil Louis, Glenn Underground, DJ Pap & many others. This song is in the gospel house vein. This is a well welcomed project to the label. Need You Lord was originally released on the Abicah Soul label in 2007. Smooth Agent decided to re-release the song with fresh remixes of this great song.
The new mixes feature 2 producers from Chicago & 2 from South Africa. On the Chicago side of things we have Bruce Rodgers aka Union Effect & Liberated label head Doc Link. Both mixes here definitely give you the Chicago energy with a 2011 perspective. From South Africa we have rising star Blaq Soul who has a steady output of releases on his on label Blaq Soul. He also done remixes for many labels worldwide. We also welcome up & coming production team The Antidotes. Their mixes here will definitely satisfy those who are deep into the South African sound, as well as those into the traditional house sound as well. We hope you enjoy this project as much as we do. Producers Robert Mahosana cognoman 'dj' Murdha and Thabo 'Smol' Mabogwane have made an energetic start to their musical union. Their hometown; Pretoria (Tshwane) - epicenter of the South African house scene - has watched in proud anticipation over the last year, as interest for the duo has amplified. Vehemently vibrating through the speakers of international music tastemakers. Their fresh ideas afford a nod of integrity to their African forbearers, heavy percussive rhythms; compliment deep house references, providing an unmistakably congruous combination.Enveloping the melodic hook of the pennywhistle, Jah Rich's decipherable vocals provide pace to the track. A backbone of encouragement, that lifts you on to your feet. It is hard to ignore the call to be part of music from this highly engaging and uniquely nourishing performer. The recent passing of Rich lends a sad, yet poignant twist to the beautifully hypnotic and enriching sound of 'Clap Your Hands'.
Great consideration over remixes was given, the release includes work by -Justin Imperiale, currently making big moves on the scene with an impressive array of collaborations for prominent labels and a revered show on Smoothtraxx Radio. LA producer Jose Marquez charged by the sounds of deep afro latin soul responsible for Celia Cruz, Elegua; Nina Simone, Black Bird; and Oumou Sangare – Mogo Te De Diva Bee Ye. And not forgetting Honey Combs chief aficionado Josh Milan of the legendary group Blaze, whose remix delivers an artful Afro beat arrangement in homage to Fela Kuti.The accompanying music video, directed by Justin Campos and produced by Gorilla films was filmed on location in a village in South Africa with the whole community, to great visual effect, involved.
